  synchronized sound playback

Playback sound synchron with your sequence is easy with AnimPlayer. Simply:

  • drag+drop a sound file into AnimPlayers application window
  • use the file menu
  • press [Shift]+[Ctrl]+[O] or
  • use a sound file name as a command line parameter.

The sound will now be loaded and the Soundbar should appear below the playback controls which displays a visual representation of the selected sound. If the sound has stereo channels, both channels are merged together to draw the sound picture.

Soundbar

To show / hide the sound bar use the View menu or press [Shift]+[F6].

Note: Currently only uncompressed sound files in Windows® native WAV format are supported.

[fps] adjusting reference playback speed

For precise synchronized sound playback please set the reference speed of your loaded image sequence with the right hand side fps (frames per second) selector. Common presets for Film, PAL and NTSC are available.

This step is necessary because AnimPlayer's image playback speed may be different for various reasons. Knowing the reference speed AnimPlayer "knows" how to accelerate or decelerate sound playback for perfect synchronization with your images. The reference speed also affects the visual represention of the sound picture.

Sound alignment sound alignment with image sequence

Often it is necessary to align the sound with the image sequence, because the sound is for a full clip whereas your loaded images represent only a part of that clip or via versa.

  • simply move the sound picture with your mouse (click and drag it even while in playback mode) or
  • goto the frame where the sound starts and press the " align to current frame" button ot press [Shift]+[I]

Sound alignment settings will be saved in AnimPlayer project files.

topsound playback

While AnimPlayer is in playback mode a moving vertical blue line inside the sound picture indicates the current sound position you are listen to.

To mute sound playback use the Speaker speaker button on the left side of the Soundbar or press [M].

To unload the current sound use the X button.
